You’ll be relieved to know that all went smoothly today. The carriage is sitting pretty in her new home and the only casualty of the day was a young silver birch tree, which may well survive anyway!

I’ll put a few photos and films together tomorrow. Super star William from Mid Norfolk Construction took some with his drone and I took a few too.

She doesn’t have roof yet so for now she’s sporting a rather attractive tarpaulin. 🤣

The pond is filling but there’s clearly some landscaping to do. We’re certain it will be pretty special when it’s finished.

Whenever people come and look at the carriage their first question is always,
“How are you going to move it?”

Today is moving day! 😬

There’s still work to be done such as fitting the glass in the windows but we have to move it before those bits are finished. The risk of the windows getting broken during a move is just too high.

🚂
❤️

This is how we’re doing it….
Hold your breath….
Dismantle half the shed.
Strap the carriage to support bars.
Lift the carriage with a crane.
Swing it up and over the remaining shed.
Lower it onto a flat base truck.
Drive it over the field to its new position by the water.
Use the crane to lift it off the flat bed.
Position and lower it into the concrete pad.
Breathe again!

I’m taking loads of photos and we have a drone to film it too. It’s a big day!!!!

Good evening!!! A before and after for you.

I’ve had a very busy couple of days at White House. I wanted to liven up the bedrooms a bit so I’ve dug out the paint brush and transformed the downstairs bedroom.

I happened across the Victorian camellia prints at the auctions this week. I went in for a lamp and ended up bringing these home too. There are 6 in total (for £20! Not bed eh?) but I’ve only hung 4 so far. I was thinking I’d repaint the mounts in a bright blue to liven them up a bit.

Anyway… I’ve painted, shifted some furniture about and hung some pictures. I’ve got a couple more bits to add- like a dressing table mirror and change the ceiling light shade.

What do you think?? (Be kind!🤣)

Lovely!! Love the bedspreads … can I ask where they come from?

I love the walls, that’s exactly what I want to do in our bedroom! I think it really lifts the space and makes it look amazing! 😊 I love the eclectic mix of colours and furniture, it makes it feel really homely and comfortable!

Love the bedding 😊

Nice.. well done 👏

That’s my lamp!! 😉 xx

The time of year where a weeks stay leaves the garden in need of tending again! It runs away with itself in June. This means it’s never absolutely perfect. There may be the odd nettle and a few weeds on the drive but if you look past those and concentrate on the hundreds of rose flowers spilling down from the walls…. you’ll appreciate what a special place this garden is. ❤️ ...
