The carriage will be toasty warm with a small antique woodburner against the back wall.
Before the burner is installed, we have to fix fireproof backing board and tiles on the base and behind where it will sit.
The floor will be reclaimed terracotta pamments. One great thing about living on an old farm, with sheds and barns full of junk, is that you occasionally find treasures! These pamments were stacked up in an old potting shed.
The back tiles are a hand made metro tile with a crackle glaze. We’ll use a grey grout which will also fill the crackles so it will be more obvious when the whole thing is finished.
Two exciting additions to the outside area of the carriage…
The boat was a gift from George the carpenter. Apparently, his friends sometimes give him boats. He doesn’t really know why and he doesn’t have any water to keep them on so he’s passed this one on to us. Thank you!! 🛶 ❤️ ... See MoreSee Less
