Fox Cottage

Fox Cottage is a cosy 17^th Century cottage situated on the 115 acre SSSI of Wortham Ling. Fox Cottage was originally a one up one down cottage with a lean to kitchen. In 2018 the cottage was restored and a modern extension housing the bright and spacious kitchen/diner and further 2 bedrooms and bathroom were added. As a result, you will find all the charm of a period property with limewashed beams and original features alongside the practical living of a light, modern space. Each room is tastefully decorated in a style that blends bright and modern with classic rustic charm. It offers a real slice of country living.

Fox Cottage sleeps up to 6 guests but it’s the perfect romantic getaway for couples too. The master bedroom has a fantastic superking size brass bed!

The sitting room is situated in the original part of the cottage. It has limed beams, a lower ceiling and a lovely feature fireplace (not currently used). The seating area is carpeted and there are comfortable sofas, a smart TV, DVD player and shelving with books and games,

The new extension houses a well-equipped modern kitchen diner with an electric range cooker; Neff slide and hide oven; microwave; American fridge freezer; washer/dryer and dishwasher. The scrub-top country kitchen table seats 6. French doors lead from the kitchen/diner straight onto a gravelled patio area with outdoor table and seating for 6. There is a BBQ available for guests to use.

There is a downstairs WC with white toilet and basin.

From the kitchen/diner you climb the stunning hand made staircase to the bedrooms and bathroom

Fox Cottage has three bedrooms.

These are: The Blue Room; The Green Room and the Yellow Room. All the bedding is 100% cotton. There are hypoallergenic pillows in each room. We also have several feather pillows if guests would prefer those.

Step down into the Blue Room and you find the original bedroom with limed beams and small feature fireplace. The Blue room has a luxurious superking size brass bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and Freeview TV.

The Green Room also has a superking bed. This bed is a zip and link so it can be set out as a twin room if you wish. There is also a wardrobe and chest of drawers in the Green Room

The Yellow Room is a pretty twin room with two single brass beds, chest of drawers and row of hooks.

The light filled and spacious bathroom has a white bathroom suite – a bath with overhead rain shower, a sink and toilet.

Fox Cottage has an enclosed garden at the rear which is made up of flower bed edged lawn and a gravelled patio.
